ArtKids Unicorn Squishy Toys

A liquid that turns into a squishy. Mix Solution A with a colored Solution B in the measuring cup, pour it into a unicorn mold, and leave it alone. What comes out is soft, slow to bounce back, and made by the child.

Read this first: the squishy needs about 4 hours to set. Mix it in the morning and it is ready in the afternoon. This is not a ten-minute craft.

Why kids keep playing with it

• The change is the lesson. Two liquids go into the cup and a solid comes out, and the child watches it happen.
• The two colors can be mixed, so no two batches come out the same shade.
• Sequins, beads and add-ons press into the squishy before it sets. Every one ends up different.
• Each finished squishy goes into a clear bag with pastel beads, gets a paper card on top and a chain, and clips onto a school bag.

Good to know

• Recommended age: 8 and up
• Work on a table you can wipe. The solution stays liquid until it sets.
